The way to the future Olympics on the City day!

On September 15, 2019, the open triathlon championship in Almaty for athletes of age categories from 7 to 23 years was held in the "Almaty Arena" complex.

The main objectives of the championship were to promote triathlon and identify promising children in this sport. More than 120 young athletes participated in the competitions. The leader of the championship was the favorite children's clown of Kazakhstan - Murat Muturganov.

The open championship of the city was held in two stages. Athletes of 7–9 years old participated in the Aquatlon race (swimming 50 m, running 1 km). The second-aquathlon distance (swimming 100 m, running 2 km) was intended for children of 10-12 years old. And, finally, athletes of age categories from 13 to 23 years fought in the "Triathlon-supersprint" race (swimming 300 m, bike 8 km, running 2 km). Competitions lasted more than five hours – all athletes had to be divided into several streams that allowed trainers to look at each participant individually.

Following the competitions results, the following athletes became winners and prize-winners.

"Triathlon" Discipline, 13-15 years:

1. Christopher Baranov, Merei Kenzhebaeva.

2. Aleksandr Molchanov, Alisha Dzhumatov.

3. Egor Kun, Kamilla Akimzhanova

"Triathlon" Discipline, 16-17 years:

1. Bogdan Gorbachev, Tomiris Baltabai.

2. Danil Kolomyitsev.

"Triathlon" Discipline, 18-20 years:

1. Bisultan Kairov, Svetlana Saunina.

2. Yegor Korolevskiy, Asiyat Gadzhieva.

1. Maria Vyazigina.

The winners were awarded medals and diplomas.
